The Carmel Mission, or Mission San Carlos Borromeo del Rio Carmelo is located in Carmel, California. The Basilica Church is a registered National Historic Landmark, and is surrounded by beautifully landscaped grounds and courtyards, as well as several museums. This shrine to the Madonna and Child is located in the main courtyard.
